Bernard Lewis...Was Osma Right ???
As American will collapses, attention spans drift, partisan politics and the far left media succeed in destroying a presidency, the words of Osama appear to be ringing true all these years after 9-11.
The American people lack the will and the character to sustain the necessary offensive required to win a direct confrontation with Islamic fundamentalism. As a pullout from Iraq draws nears, as American minds focus on Paris Hilton's jail sentence, Billary in the White House and their stock and real estate holdings, Iran is enriching uranium, a nuclear Pakistan is in play, Europe remains in deep denial and America is again asleep at the wheel, completely ignorant to the horrors that await it.
It will take the loss of a city before we wake up again and even then most will blame it on George Bush.
It's not a pretty picture.
AT WAR
Was Osama Right?
Islamists always believed the U.S. was weak. Recent political trends won't change their view.

During the Cold War, two things came to be known and generally recognized in the Middle East concerning the two rival superpowers. If you did anything to annoy the Russians, punishment would be swift and dire. If you said or did anything against the Americans, not only would there be no punishment; there might even be some possibility of reward, as the usual anxious procession of diplomats and politicians, journalists and scholars and miscellaneous others came with their usual pleading inquiries: "What have we done to offend you? What can we do to put it right?"
