Democrats Find Actual Arena More Difficult Than The Bleacher Seats.
The democratic party is starting to see that it is easier to criticize from the bleacher seats than it is to actually govern. They have become accountable and their conflicts and agendas have become transparent. Any attempts to submarine President Bush's plans for Iraq will be memorialized.
Democrats struggle with next step on Iraq
POSTED: 12:49 p.m. EST, February 27, 2007
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Democrats' ambitious plans to limit President Bush's war authority and force a change of course in Iraq are faltering amid party divisions over how quickly and aggressively they should act.
A group of senior Senate Democrats is pushing to repeal the 2002 measure authorizing the war and pass a new resolution restricting the mission and ordering troop withdrawals to begin by this summer. In the House, a respected veteran wants to use Congress' spending power to essentially force Bush to scale back U.S. involvement in Iraq.

It is very true that freedom comes with a very high price, it is also true that our freedoms need to be protected.
Now, as you note, our VP is in Afghanistan trying to find a way to combat the Taliban. That is where he should have been five years ago. Instead he led us into a war against people who were actually no threat to our freedoms, or to anything else, except maybe our oil supply.
The real reasons we went to war in Iraq are either very foolish and naive, or very deceptive. Either way we have lost money, brave people and the respect of the world. We are certainly no safer.
I am sure you are aware of these arguments, but you chose to give your country blind, unquestioning faith. You don't need freedom for that.
The best way to protect our freedom is to have informed, aware and questioning voters.
Therapist,
Thank you for offering your thoughts.
I most certainly do not offer blind faith to our leaders. I simply believe far too many take a MOnday morning quarterback approach to matters that have developed.
There continue to be many tough decisions to be made and it is important that we learn from them and not spend out time attacking each other.
Please feel free to comment anytime. It apears this blog is starting to catch on and I welcome your participation.
